Not totally sure why Ubi decided to release those two games in the US the way they did instead of under a new 's not like the Petz franchise is known for adventure games and such. They're very, VERY similar to Dog Island. Petz Dogz 2 and Petz Catz 2 for PS2/Wii were both developed by Yukes, if you can believe it (same game, different animals). Well ok, 94 did on the PS2, but will we ever see that stateside? The stuff out of SNK is generally pretty hot, though it's a shame that their games don't get the amount of love that KoF98 and 99 did on the DC. I love Terminal Reality's original work, but their console-based emulation releases are so very.underwhelming. I'm a sucker for cheap entertainment (or a ridiculously bad game available for just the right price)Įdit - and in the realm of more expensive games (50% more expensive!), Yakuza 2 is in fact the bee's fucking knees.

Not too sure about the rest of the $20 and under releases in Amazon's schedule, but I'll keep an eye on them. and I know I'm most likely throwing money in the drain on these two, but I'm seriously curious about M&M's Adventure and PBR: Out of the Chute.

Hopefully the emulation (or porting?!?) is up to snuff (you know, unlike SNK Classics Vol 1).

King of Fighter: Orochi Saga is another no brainer. There's a new Onimusha Bundle that should be an absolute no-brainer (much like the previous Metal Gear Solid bundle)
PS2 REVIEWS ETERNAL POISON CODE
For the target age group, they weren't bad.Īnyone try Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity yet? I'm not familiar with the franchise and don't know if it'd be an ok jumping in point or if I should play the DS game first or what. Can't find any comparisons between the two games other than on the developer's site, so maybe I'll have to spend a weekend punishing myself and write something up.ĭog Island is going to be more or less the sequel to Petz Dogz 2 / Petz Catz 2, I believe (interface is different, at least). I haven't put any time into DT Carnage yet to see if it was better than DT Racing, but it'd be hard for it not to be better. Yes, I'm that hard up for RC Mini Chopper and yes, I'm seriously thinking about just importing it along with the special controller at about 10x the cost that it'd be if Valcon were able to release it here. Speaking of which, please buy Daisenryaku VII: Exceed, if not for yourself (because it's fucking excellent) then to support Valcon's good releases in the hopes that they'll one day be able to release RC Mini Chopper. I think IGN did a review on Falling Stars that was pretty spot on. I've yet to put much time into Sheppard's Crossing yet, but it looks like it may be worth sinking some time into as well.įalling Stars should only be bought with the knowledge that it's horrible and you're buying it because you want to support Valcon in the hopes that they'll one day actually release RC Mini Chopper. MLB Power Pros was a hella good budget game, as was the 2008 followup. I'm really looking forward to Army Men: Soldiers of Misfortune (if my previous thread didn't give that away already). Still, some of the budget games that got released at the end of the PS1's life cycle are still some of my favorite PS1 games, so I'm hoping that some of these games don't suck. However, I haven't bought either of these games yet because I'm waiting to hear more on them from people who have actually purchased and tried them versus reading a Metacritic score derived from two people's submissions.Īnd yes, before someone says it, I already know these aren't games with the depth and production values of a God of War or a Devil May Cry. Specifically, I'm referring to budget games that I've seen such as Women's Volleyball Championship and Garfield: Lasagna World Tour. Has anyone tried any of the budget games that keep popping up and can anyone tell if (a) these are good games or (b) if they might be collectable or just junk?
PS2 REVIEWS ETERNAL POISON PS2
Most of the people who are still into the PS2 have bought recently released games like Yakuza 2, a game that I think has more depth than a lot of the stuff that has come out on the newer systems, but there are a few more decent games like Dokapon Kingdom, Persona 4, Eternal Poison, Samurai Shodown Anthology and King of the Fighters: Orochi Saga that will come out for the system in the U.S. I know that there have been a few threads about specific PlayStation 2 late release games, but I wanted to start one just to discuss some of the hidden gems that are forthcoming for the die-hard fans.
